Harry Potter is one of those series that inspired millions of children, and adults alike (and still does) for millions of reasons. It got people reading and it also teaches some very valuable life lessons in the form of a fiction story. Sometimes authors are the most powerful role models, and popular authors often have the power to send a good message to teach the world. I believe JK Rowling is one of those that tried to do good.
