This book is extremely overrated in my opinion; it has the plot to be interesting, but I didn't think it was executed very well. It was just like a massive comedy chase scene that dragged out throughout the whole book really.

I actually gave my physical copy away (that I can remember) to somebody who hadn't read it before in the hope that they would like it better than I did. Every book hits every single person differently so hopefully it can have another effect on somebody else.

I wasn't keen on this book on the first read, I found Tris to be extremely reckless and stupid with her decisions. Overall, I was just so frustrated with this book and wanted to throw my kindle across my room in anger. However, upon rereading this book I started to understand a little of where Tris was coming from and her motives for doing what she was doing - I still didn't like this book as much as the first one but it definitely improved with a reread.

This book may have been a YA novel on the surface, but it had a hell of a lot more layers than that. At it's core this book was about life. Schott toyed with the idea that life is just a game; the characters were from another planet playing "Life" the virtual reality game. But is this idea far off from the real thing. In life, we make decisions; some of them right some of them wrong, we do good, we do badly and in actual fact we don't even know what we are really doing. This book followed a really great plot line as well as being extremely thought provoking.
